Barbecue, Mechanical stuff, and Baptism

I used the barbecue grill Pro bought me, for the first time on the 4th of July. It is a Char-Broil charcoal grill with adjustable height. Being inexperienced with charcoal, I put too many briquets in the grill. There were so many that they piled up nearly to the cooking grill. As a consequence, the food cooked real quick, and it was a challenge to keep stuff from burning. All in all I would say it was a good learning experience. Everyone there was very forgiving.

I have a fear of doing stuff with my hands. Be it wood-working, auto work, or any mechanical stuff, I am terrified of it. At the same time, I have a huge interest in learning how to do mechanical stuff. I am determined to do most if not all the maintenance on my new bike. Saturday I spent a lot of money on a rear-stand for the bike so I can clean the chain and do other maintenance like changing the oil. Saturday night, I cleaned the chain using kerosene and a brush, wiped the excess off, and took the bike for a ride to warm up the chain. After that I applied the chain lube to lubricate and protect the chain. In the next couple days, I will be faced with doing an oil change. I already have all the supplies, so it is just a matter of waiting for the 600 mile mark.

Tonight we went to the first Baptism class for Reyna's baptism. The instructor was really good. The class made me question my beliefs, what they are, do I have any etc... I have never really seriously thought of religion. When I was much younger, in elementary school, I took an interest in the Bible and Sunday school. It is funny, I think I had a better knowledge of the Bible then than I do now. When I got into junior high and beyond, church and Sunday school were more social activities, rather than having anything to do with religion. Now I feel that church is important, and something that I want to engage again. I think it is something that can strengthen our family, and something that can only help Reyna as she grows older.

Why sniffing?

I'm sniffing because of what you posted in the last paragraph. It brought tears to my eyes.
