Let me start by updating you on my flu shot allergy. I've been eating foods made with eggs, and eggs period, since the day I had the allergic reaction to the flu shot. Nothing's happened. I finally went to the doctor, and EVERYONE in the office had heard about me. Well, about someone having had a reaction. Very...unnerving. I was given a list of allergists to call. I finally picked one and had an appointment for the day after I called. I saw him - very nice man, too - and they did a small skin test. Just for eggs. The only reaction I had was to the control test, which is what you're supposed to have if you're not allergic. And I wasn't. Yes!
Turns out I was already immune to one of the strains in the vaccine. Which one, we'll never know since there's no way of testing for that. And it turns out that when I got the shot last year, I was already immune. (BTW, this year's vaccine is the exact same as last year's. My allergist told me.) I'd gotten sick almost immediately after getting the shot last year, but the doctors wouldn't say it was the flu...even though it FELT like the flu. So the allergist wrote down the strains that I CANNOT have for me to keep in my wallet. He says I can still get the vaccine, but it can't have any of those 3 strains in it. So I'd have to talk to my doctor about getting the vaccine in the future, to see if future vaccines have the strains I'm immune to. He also recommended that I get the nasal vaccine instead of the shot. Works for me! But I'd have to do that at the doctors office. *sigh* The allergist gave me this little metal tube on a keychain that contains 6 pills. Whenever I get stung by a bee (since I'm allergic), I'm to immediately take those 6 pills. How I'm supposed to do that when my throat is closed off and my tongue is swollen is beyond me. But he said most people find that they don't need to use their EpiPens when taking the pills. Hmm...Hopefully, I won't get stung by a bee again. Or have another reaction to future flu vaccines...
And I still haven't heard from the vaccine's pharmaceutical company...
I took R to see HSM 3 yesterday after school. She LOVED it!!!!! We didn't get to see the very end, though, because she had to go potty. But that's okay, because I'll just buy the movie for us when it comes out on DVD. And she can't wait for the soundtrack to come out. She's so funny!
She's been listening to the soundtrack for HSM 2 since...Hmm...Sunday? Saturday? One of those. She's a Sharpay freak! *lol* She LOVES Sharpay, mainly because of the song at the pool that she sings and because she loves the color pink just like R does. We have to keep that song (Fabulous?) on repeat. I'm rather sick of it, to tell you the truth. Anyway, I told her that I have HSM 2 if she wanted to watch it. She was thrilled with that idea, so I popped it in the DVD player when we got home after school today. She watched about 1/2 of it, then switched to a different movie. She kept switching movies, but eventually ended up back with HSM 2 somewhere around dinner time. We were having pasta with meatballs, but she didn't want any sauce with hers. So we let her eat dinner in the living room (or family room as my mom calls it) while she watched the movie. This time, she watched it all.
She took a shower after it was over, then watched part of it again. The third time, she was doing the dance moves along with the movie!!!!! I couldn't believe it! She'd just started watching that movie TODAY, and already she knows a lot of the dances. I was so amazed. And it was pretty cute.
And, yes, this mama owns the first 2 HSM movies AND the soundtracks!!!!! But I think R is now claiming them as her own...Little stinker...
I'm supposed to be getting ready for a craft fair on the 15th, but I haven't had the inclination to do so. I just don't feel like it anymore. I don't feel like crafting for extra cash. I so rarely sell anything I make. And I haven't sold any Body Shop stuff in forever! I've been making SOME money at the craft mall, but not enough to cover my monthly rent. Is it worth it? I don't know anymore. I guess I'll give it till the new year before I decide for certain what I want to do. I'm so confused about a lot of things right now.
That's it for this post. Catch up with y'all later!
