K's been home from the hospital for a week now. We're SLOWLY getting things settled down here at home, but it hasn't been easy. She wasn't doing too well on the formula the NICU had her on. She was wanting to feed every 2 hrs., and she was cramping from gas pains. She was miserable, which meant we were miserable.
We took her in for her 1 week Newborn Check this past Wednesday. The ped changed her formula, but warned us we might be switching the gas issues for constipation issues. THAT we're used to and can deal with. The gas cramps? Not so much. So she's on the new formula, and she seems to be doing a lot better. She's lasting 3 hrs. between bottles now, and she gets about 2 hrs. of sleep at a time. She still has some gas issues, and she gets semi-constipated, but it's nothing we can't handle.
R has taken to being a REAL big sis like a champ! She's TOTALLY in love with her little sister. She tried feeding her once, but K pooped in her arms so she refuses to feed her again. *lol* She has yet to change a diaper! But she's awesome. She's always loving on her and walking her around and carrying her...She gets upset if K and I don't go with A to drop her off at school. She got upset this past Friday because K and I weren't gonna go to the school Mass. I was exhausted, I just couldn't go. She understands that I'm exhausted and still in some pain, so she doesn't get too upset. Besides, starting Wednesday, A will be going back to work and it'll be just the 3 of us in the mornings. Ack!!!!!
R's volleyball practice started last week. She did well. Coach taught them to serve and bump, and um...well, I don't know what it's called but it's a stance. Haha! My volleyball days were a long time ago, and they never taught us that kind of stuff. I learned to bump and serve from my older sister M. Turns out that volleyball is turning into a family sport...
I've been cleared to drive, so look out everyone!!!!! I started by picking R up from school on Friday. It was nerve wracking, but I made it to the school and we made it back home - all safe and in one piece!!!!! And I had to go by myself, too. Eek!
That's it for today! We didn't do anything special this week. With R having started school, and K finally home from the hospital, and with me being in pain still, there wasn't anything we wanted to do. And we were too tired to go anywhere, anyway. Next week? Grocery shopping. Argh...
