Day Care, Kiddie Pools, and Other Things...

So Reyna has a kiddie pool. It's really cute, actually. It's got an elephant head at one end, with a snout or spout (whatever) that sprays water. And it has a little place under the head for a little one to sit. Anyway, Reyna didn't like the pool the first time. She cried and wouldn't sit in it on her own. She would hold on to someone for dear life, and wouldn't relax unless she was with me. I did eventually manage to get her to sit in the pool on her own, but not for long. She prefered to be with me in my arms or lap. The 2nd time she got in her pool, it was just with me and Andy. Andy said she stiffened up some and clung to his legs, but that she started to splash and have fun. By the time I got out there a few minutes after them, she was sitting in the pool splashing away...but never far from Andy. *lol* When I got in with them, she got a little braver and a little more adventurous. That's my baby!

Day care...Well, I hate day care. There's nothing wrong with the one she's at. I just don't like day care. I hate leaving her in the care of total strangers. Heck, I hate leaving her in the care of ANYONE!!!!! I love caring for Reyna, and it's really hard to leave her elsewhere for a few hours. Anyway, she had a little accident. After changing her diaper, the caregiver set her down on some colored mats. She crawled over to the tiled area, and dropped her head - the way she always does when she's tired. I guess she wasn't expecting the floor to be so hard, because she dropped it hard and got a bump and bruise on her forehead. Poor baby. She was also cranky and fussy, and acting like she wasn't feeling well. She even woke up from a nap feeling warm, but she didn't have a fever or anything when they checked her temp. She was just having some pooping issues, that's all. It's something that happens every once in a while. They called to tell me about the accident, and that she's been really fussy and acting like she wasn't feeling well. She was napping when they called, so I went to get her 2hrs. later. *sigh* Poor thing. She's just not used to having others around. She prefers her Mama and Daddy. As Andy says, though: She's a Mama's Baby.

She has started a new phase in snacking: MELBA TOAST!!!!! *lol* She LOVES the stuff! She can't get enough of it sometimes. Just like her Mama and Ahndewy...We love that stuff, too.

Reyna's crawling all over the place, getting into all sorts of baby trouble, getting more adventurous with each new day. She started to crawl to the stairs the other day. Yesterday, she was trying to crawl UP the stairs, and today she was crawling to the front door. She's crawled to the front living room, and IN that room. Bookshelves are her favorite place to crawl to, because she wants to pull out all of Mama's books! Little stinker...She's pulling up on everything and everyone. I think she'll be walking here in the next couple of months, too. No teefies yet, but that's okay. I'm not THAT anxious for them! *lol*

Hope this post finds everyone well. Have a great week!

*hugs*

Well, you can't take care of her all the time. So daycare is a necessity. The caregivers there seem really nice, and it is a nice facility, away from traffic. Taking her in that first day really assured me, but I still don't like leaving her alone there. She just seems very young to be left alone, but I know people do it all the time.

Well, I'm glad that you like the facility itself. That's always a comfort for parents. I, myself, would also hate to leave my kids at daycare, but since I choose to go back to work after they're born, I would have to force myself to live with it. At least you know that she loves you and can hardly wait for you to hurry back so that the two of you can be together again.

Pro: Through a newspaper article, I've finally discovered what a blogger is and have created my own. It's called Migas de Esperanza, but there's nothing in it yet.
