HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!!!!! Hope you all had a good time, and didn't overeat!
Now, on to my blog...
So my in-laws came down yesterday for my hubby's "conversion" into the Catholic Church from the Lutheran faith. They stayed till shortly after lunch today. It was great, and I'm now glad that A chose me to be his sponsor. I was happy, too, that his parents, my mom, and one of my brothers went to the Easter Vigil mass to witness this momentous occasion for us. I was even MORE glad that my in-laws got here safely with my baby, and I was SO FREAKIN' HAPPY that she was back home with us.
Well, today, my niece and my mom and my brothers were supposed to come for an Easter Egg hunt that my daughter asked for. I'd bought lots of candy and plastic eggs for this. Last night, they all said they were coming today for the hunt. Guess what? ONLY ONE OF MY BROTHERS SHOWED UP!!!!! ONE!!!!! No one else bothered to call and say that they weren't coming after all. I called my niece around 1pm to ask where she was. She said she didn't think she was gonna come after all because she had to finish her paper that's due tomorrow. Understandable. No biggie. After that, I kept waiting and waiting. My oldest brother was already there, waiting for my mom, too. After about an hr. of me falling asleep in my chair, I finally asked him to call our mom and find out when she was going to get here. Turns out she wasn't going to come after all, and neither was my other brother. Did ANYONE bother to call and notify me? NO!!!!! I'm SO PISSED about that.
But, even though my family pissed me off, the ONE person who showed up made it fun for my daughter. And I'm glad about that. I hid all but 4 eggs, and I didn't even bother hiding the candy. What was the point, since it was really for the adults? (And they didn't act like adults today, not bothering to call me.) So, long story short: I'm glad that she had a great time, anyway, and that my brother made it fun for her - and me! I had a blast taking pictures of the 2 of them. I just kept snapping away on the camera, watching them have fun and race for the eggs. Oh, and I got to give this same brother his birthday present: a Superman beach towel. I think it's gonna go in his Superman shrine, but he says he's gonna use it.
Next year? They better come or call me to say they're not coming. That was just plain RUDE on their parts. Or maybe we'll just go to my in-laws. I don't know. We'll see.
