Day Care...

Well, today was Reyna's first day at day care. It was supposed to have been on Tuesday, but I kept her home because she was sick with her 2nd cold. She did great at school, unlike her Mama who just broke down as soon as we stepped out into the parking lot. I'm a SAHM, and I had to put my child in day care 2 days a week so I could get stuff done (meaning go to all my doctor's appointments that I've had to cancel). I feel horrible about it, but Andy's not a reliable source to turn to for child care right now. Not with his job situation the way it is.

Anyway, the baby did great. They called to let me know she was happy and playing. I didn't think that was fair since I was miserable. *heeheehee* But, well, I'm glad she did fine. Unfortunately, she wouldn't eat much at lunch - just the Turkey Rice Dinner I packed for her, no water or fruit. And she only took 1oz. of her 6oz. bottle of formula. They tried giving her a bottle 2x, but she wouldn't take it. Poor baby. I think she just wanted her Mama. She was playing quietly and alone when I went to go pick her up. I called out to her, and she looked up and gave me a HUGE smile. She threw down the toy she was playing with, then crawled to me. Aaaaawwwww...She was so happy to see me, and it made me feel even more horrible about putting her in day care.

She fell asleep in the car on the way home, and woke up when I was getting her belts undone. I gave her a bottle, and tried to get her to nap but she wouldn't. So we played for a while, then she started to get fussy so I took her into bed with me to see if she would fall asleep. It took a little while, but she fell asleep. It was funny, though. One minute she was playing quietly with her blankie, and the next she was passed out. I was holding her, and she was snuggled close to me. I fell asleep, too, even though I didn't think I was tired. Andy came to check on us, I think, around 6, and she had just woken up. She was a bit cranky, but only because she was so tired.

Andy's trying to get her to sleep again. He tried earlier, but she wouldn't sleep. So I suggested he take her downstairs with him and let her play around so that he could eat. That was around 7:30, and it's now about 8:45. She's so tired, but she won't sleep. We had to bring her into bed with us last night, around 11, because she kept crying out and we had to keep going to her. She slept much better when she was with us, but she cried out a couple of times. She kept kicking Andy in the back, and kept headbutting me in the back of my neck. She somehow gets herself in a sideways position when she's in bed with us. I think it's so that she can kick us and such. *lol*

It's looking like tonight is going to be another long night. She's up to her old antics of not wanting to go to sleep. I think she just wants to make up for the time that she was at school, or she's afraid that we won't be there when she wakes up. We left her at school this morning without saying goodbye, which is bad, I know. I think it's really bothering her. *sigh* I don't know what to do now, and I think Andy's getting frustrated. We'll probably have to take her for a drive again. We did that one night. Well, we took her out looking for something and to get dinner because she wouldn't go to sleep. She didn't fall asleep for about a week until 10!!!!!

That's it for now! Keep looking for the next installment of Pro's Corner...

*hugs*

Nice post. I feel bad about leaving her at day care too. Hopefully she can make some friends there. It was sad to see that she was by herself.

She'll be fine. You know she doesn't like to be away from y'all.
