Our air conditioner stopped working last night. The outdoor unit was running like it normally does, but there was no air being circulated inside. After repeated calls to the service company, we finally had someone arrive at midnight to look at the machine. He promptly says that the coil is frozen, and that we should wait until the morning for it to thaw out. I readily agree.
We had a tough night. I am exhausted as I write this. It was extremely hot and humid in the house with all the windows open and the fans running. Reyna woke up multiple times, and I finally ended up bringing her into bed with us at around 4am. Luckily Pro took her from there, since I was pretty much a zombie.
At 8am I call the service company to find out when someone is coming out. I am told sometime in the morning. At about noon, Pro calls and finds out that they should be coming soon. About an hour later, 2 guys arrive. They locate a leak on the evaporator coil. It is under warranty, but we have to pay for labor, $416. After having to drive across San Antonio to pick up the coil, they finish the work at about 4:30pm. Hurray, we have air-conditioning again. The total bill $660. Geez, our house is not even 2 years old yet.
