Handipoints

I found the most WONDERFUL chore chart site this morning! And it's FREE!!!!! Can you believe it? The link is above. Check it out.

I love this site. It's awesome. And I just found it today! You get to choose a cat for you to interact with. You can personalize the chore chart for your kids. Pick up to 35 chores and demerits and such for your children. Help them pick savings goals. Let them play in HandiLand.

As a parent, you get to log in to grade the chores that your children do. You can customize the chart by adding items that they have listed on their site, or create your own custom chores. Same for savings goals.

I just love this site. R does, too. This site is great for children 4 yrs. to 14 yrs. You'll love it! I promise!

I know this post is all over the place. I'm sorry. I'm on the phone as I type it up. Just check out the site!

Anyway...

I tackled the dungeon yesterday and WON!!!!! Yep! That corner on my side of the bed in our room was a dungeon. It had tons of books, dust, slippers, chanclas, catalogs, magazines, and I can't remember what else. That's 4+ yrs. of stuff. I finally tackled it all and it's CLEAN!!!!! Of course, I paid for it dearly with horrible allergies. My eyes were so swollen, my throat was hurting, I was itchy (even though I'd scrubbed in my shower after), and I was miserable. I just felt like crap. Anyway, I threw away most of the books that were in the dungeon because they were too dusty to mess with. I kept some books, though. I wanted to see if they would sell at the garage sale or in my Amazon shop. I threw away all the catalogs and such because they were too dusty to mess with. I vacuumed that area like CRAZY! I vacuumed the carpet there that hadn't seen the light of day in a few years. I vacuumed the baseboards and the corners of the walls and the ceiling corners. I vacuumed one of the mini blinds. I dusted the corner shelf and cleaned it off. I dusted EVERYTHING... Then I grabbed one of the nightstands that was on A's side and dusted it off and took everything off of it. I then moved the corner shelf to the corner, and put the nightstand where the shelf was. I then put some meds and lotion in the top drawer, and some books I haven't read that I found in the dungeon and some pictures in the bottom drawer. On top, I put R's cool mist humidifier, my alarm clock, 3 things of lip stuff, my water bottle, and there's a spot for her nightly water cup. The corner shelf is practically bare now. But my trusty lamp is still there, and I like it better in the corner than I did right in my face.

I forgot to mention that I put away the TV table that I'd had on my side of the bed - just about right there at the bed - for over a year...since my gallbladder surgery. I cleaned that off, too, and put away all the stuff that was on there for over a year.

It's really weird having all the space to move around on my side of the bed now. It's so open and light now in that corner. I'm happy now. I don't know HOW I slept in that room with all that dust. It was HORRIBLE!!!!! I NEVER WANT TO CLEAN THAT AGAIN!!!!! I hope I *NEVER* let it get that way again.

When I was dusting and throwing away all those books, I kept thinking that we (as in me!) have wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many books in the house. We need to go through them again. Oh, wait...*I* need to go through them. *lol* I'm out of places to put them! Yeah, I really need to get rid of some.

I'm taking today off from all the cleaning and such. It's my reward to myself for cleaning the dungeon out. I inspired A with the cleaning so much that he put away all the children's books that were on the floor on his side of the bed. *lol* He said he saw my corner and looked at his area and said it was a mess compared to mine. So he cleaned it up. But he didn't vacuum or dust. Silly. My side is STILL cleaner and nicer. ; )

I bought myself a new "game" for my Nintendo DS. It's called My Weight Loss Coach. It came with a pedometer. It's pretty cool, I guess. There are challenges that you need to complete - you get to choose up to 6 per day. You can plug the pedometer into the DS to upload your steps. You feed your coach the food that you ate everyday - or something close to it. It's pretty cool. I like it so far. *lol*

That's it. I'm taking R to Club Libby Lu today. It's her reward for being such a big girl by giving up some of her toys and books and clothes, and for helping me with the cleaning. And for putting up with me when I get after when she makes a mess in the back living room and leaving it there. *lol*

I'm off!...
