*sigh*
It's that time of week again. Menu planning. I HATE IT!!!!! These 2 say they're not picky eaters, but THEY ARE!!!!! They drive me INSANE every week because they always shoot down most of what I recommend, but always want hot dogs/chili dogs or salad. Being diabetic and pregnant, there are only so many hot dogs I can consume. And salads leave me...empty...hungry...
WHAT TO DO? Well, I do mental screams and mentally pull my hair out of my head. Then I visually take deep breaths and turn to Pinterest. Haha!
And I found a recipe for this week: Chicken and Broccoli Noodle Casserole via www.skinnytaste.com. I already had some stuff for the week from eMeals, but A won't touch eggs (except in egg salad) and R said the recipe sounded disgusting (though she's an egg fan). It was for an egg & sausage casserole that sounded deelish (except for the sausage part)! Oh, well. *sigh*
So let me update y'all on what's been going on...
I haven't heard back from the peri yet about my blood pressure. Since I go back tomorrow for a check up, there was no point in calling to find out. Hopefully it's good news and it's just gestational.
I've had some dental drama all last week. I had some pain in my lower left gum that would get worse as the week progressed. By Thursday afternoon, I was crying and literally asking people to knock me out. I had a dental appointment Friday morning with my dentist, and wanted to be knocked out till then. R wasn't happy about my question, and went around "protecting" me the rest of Thursday. *lol* I had pain pills (low dose, so safe for my pregnancy), but I had to take a lot of them throughout the day and night before they worked long enough for me to get a few hrs. of constant sleep. Turned out my dentist couldn't replicate the pain in any way, and she and her assistant went to a lot of trouble to find an endodontist who would see me on such short notice. I was seen that afternoon, but I was told to cut out the painkillers - which brought on a panic attack that A couldn't talk me through (and he doesn't know how to, either, since they're very rare for me and I don't think he's ever seen one). I went shopping, which got rid of the panic attack.
A lot of crap went on all week, and it was a very stressful time for me. R ended up getting sick, and was throwing up by bedtime on Wednesday night. So she missed school - again. I took her to the doc, and was told she had a sinus infection...AGAIN!!!!! 1 more, and she has to have an x-ray of her head to check her sinus cavities. *sigh* Since she's exhausted all the antibiotics in Level/Category 1, she's now on Level/Category 2. I think it's working. That, and the Celestial Seasonings Throat Tamer Tea & Zarbee's all natural cough syrup. And Coke to mask the nasty taste of the Zarbee's and to calm her stomach.
So while she was going through all of that, I was going through my dental drama. I'm happy to say that I've been pain free since late Friday afternoon!!!!! I had to have a root canal on a TOP tooth. I didn't care, as long as the pain was gone. I've got some biting pain now, but it's nothing major. Just gotta take it easy with the crunchy stuff - like avoid it for a while longer. The left side of my face is still a bit tender to the touch, but nothing a little Tylenol won't help. I haven't taken any painkillers since Friday morning, which I'm happy about. I keep them around, though, in case something else happens. But I hope I won't have to take them again.
Now I just have pain from these stupid Braxton Hicks contractions, and from my headaches. ARGH!!!!!
Oh! R made her First Communion yesterday!!!!! I'm so proud of her!!!!! She looked BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
That's all today. R is being difficult, as usual. She wants to continue being on her computer instead of taking care of her hamster and getting ready for bed. Too bad! She's got school tomorrow, and she'll be going! Me? I might just take another day off...
